How Digital Technology Makes Same-Day Teeth Possible
For many people considering full mouth dental implants, one question comes up more than any other.
"Will I really leave with teeth the same day?"
The answer is yes.
At Fusion Dental Implants, advanced digital technology allows eligible patients to walk into our office with failing or missing teeth and leave the very same day with a brand-new smile. Here is how it works.
A New Era of Full Mouth Dental Implants
Traditional dental implant procedures often required multiple appointments, messy impressions, temporary dentures, and long waiting periods before receiving new teeth.
Today's technology has changed that. Using advanced digital planning, guided implant surgery, photogrammetry, and high-speed 3D printing, we can streamline the treatment process while improving precision and patient comfort. Every step is designed to create a more accurate fit and a smoother experience.
Planning Begins Before Surgery
Long before surgery begins, our team creates a complete digital treatment plan. Using advanced CT imaging, digital scans, and facial photographs, we design the patient's future smile before a single implant is placed.

This digital planning lets us evaluate:
- Bone quality and density
- Implant positioning
- Bite alignment
- Smile aesthetics
- Tooth shape and proportions
- Gum contours
Because so much planning happens beforehand, surgery becomes more predictable and efficient.
Precise Implant Placement
During surgery, dental implants are carefully placed into the jawbone according to the digital treatment plan. In this particular case, five implants were placed in the lower arch to provide a stable foundation for the patient's new teeth.
Every patient's anatomy is unique, which is why the exact number of implants is determined during the consultation. You can learn more about full arch options on our All-on-4 and full-arch implants page.
Capturing Implant Positions With Photogrammetry
One of the most advanced parts of the process is called photogrammetry.
Unlike traditional dental impressions, photogrammetry digitally captures the precise position of each implant after surgery. This highly accurate scan records every implant location in three dimensions.
The digital information is immediately transferred into specialized design software, allowing our laboratory team to begin creating the patient's temporary prosthesis almost immediately. The result is greater precision and an exceptionally accurate fit.
Designing the New Smile Digitally
Once the implant positions have been captured, the digital smile design is combined with the treatment plan created before surgery.
Our team fine-tunes tooth position, tooth size, bite relationship, smile symmetry, and overall aesthetics. Because everything is done digitally, adjustments can be made with incredible accuracy before the restoration is ever printed.
3D Printing the Temporary Teeth
After the design is finalized, the restoration is sent directly to one of our advanced in-house 3D printers. Using high-performance dental materials, the printer produces a one-piece temporary bridge designed specifically for that patient.

Following printing, the restoration is cleaned, finished, polished, and prepared for placement. Having an in-house laboratory means there is no need to send cases to an outside lab and wait days or weeks for fabrication. Everything happens under one roof.
Leaving With Teeth the Same Day
While the restoration is being designed and printed, the patient simply rests after surgery. By the time the temporary bridge is completed, it is secured directly onto the implants.
Patients leave the office with a fixed set of teeth instead of a removable denture. For many people, this is one of the most exciting moments of the entire process. Instead of spending months without teeth, they begin smiling again immediately.
Why Digital Dentistry Matters
Digital workflows are transforming full mouth dental implant treatment. Compared to traditional methods, digital technology offers several important advantages:
- More accurate implant positioning
- Better-fitting temporary teeth
- Faster treatment times
- Fewer adjustments
- Improved comfort
- More predictable results
- Streamlined communication between the surgeon and laboratory
Technology does not replace experience. It enhances it. By combining advanced digital systems with years of surgical expertise, patients receive treatment that is both efficient and highly personalized. According to the American Dental Association, dental implants are a safe, well-established way to replace missing teeth and support long-term oral health.
